

Dakota “Kody” Schweitzer (he/him/his, they/them/theirs) is a gamemaker, a designer, a writer, and a dreamer. He’s been creating and sharing his work online since 2016, and uses a wide variety of mediums to explore queer identities and the joy that can come with them. They are a three time recipient of the Johnny Carson Opportunity Scholarship, and are in their third year at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. As a queer and trans person himself, Kody has always been fascinated by the way identity is constantly shifting as people grow - how who you were and who you are can be both distinct and overlapping, and how that intersectionality informs and influences how you think about and interact with the world. They explore these ideas through many lenses, ranging from whimsical laughter to the unsettling and uncanny. Interaction and agency are also major factors in his work, with the audience’s participation essential to many of his projects. Kody’s body of work includes games of various genres, installations, narrative design and stories, and digital art and character design. He plans to graduate from UNL in the fall of 2026 and pursue a career in game design.
